With an extensive background in acting the arts and education, directing was natural progression for Brooke. After graduating with a Bachelor of Creative Arts and Masters of Curation and Cultural Leadership she used her business acumen to build a renowned academy for the performing arts, working with youths from all over NSW, educating them on the merits of theatre, voice and movement. She has used this platform to expand her skillset into telling stories that empower and move audiences.
Utilising her innate ability to connect with others has enabled her to engage with people from richly diverse backgrounds. Using a gentle, encouraging conversational style allows her subjects to feel at ease and grants them the space to feel heard and understood. Promoting an empathy between each other facilitates people to share their personal experiences in a way that can be captured and shared on screen in interesting and thought provoking ways.
Directing people this way conveys the realism of the story to the audience without barriers allowing a window into other peoples worlds and providing perspectives that would otherwise go unheard.
